Bwindi Backpackers lodge is of one kind travelers’ paradise located on the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National park, a world heritage site the home to two great apes; Chimpanzees and Mountain Gorillas.
We have budget and mid range accommodation starting from self camping, rooms with shared bathroom, self contained rooms and cottages. We do organize and process gorilla tracking permits for our clients at no extra fees and also our clients can pay by card or bank transfer or if near our offices pay by cash in US dollars or Uganda shillings or pounds and Euros. We do also organize active Nyiragongo Hikes in the nearby Virunga National Park (in DR Congo), Queen Elizabeth trips and many other activities.
It is on top of a hill that shares the boundary with Bwindi forest with immediate access of the road network suitable for all cars from saloon cars to big overland trucks. The lodge site is frequently visited by Nkuringo Gorilla family and sometimes visitors watch gorillas from the lodge compound.
Accommodation:
We have 4 hand crafted rooms with shared bathrooms with wonderful views of the community, Nombe forest, and 4 hand-crafted Self contained rooms overlooking the BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST. A few lucky clients have watched gorillas while in these self contained rooms because sometimes Nkuringo gorilla family comes to feed within the lodge compound. This incident has happened several times so come and stay at our lodge you may be lucky to see gorillas on their next visit to the lodge.
We also have a dormitory and spacious space for camping if you have your own tent all with sweeping views of the forest. There is also guaranteed security day and night, safe car parking and also spacious space for overland trucks all with views of the forest.
