Kibale Forest Camp, Kibale Forest National Park

Where better to capture the thrill of a howling black and white Colobus or to listen to the wood owl calling his partner, than from the comfort of your tent in Kibale Forest Camp? Get absorbed by forest smells and sounds, spot primates swinging through the trees and observe rare birds and beautiful butterflies fluttering around. Have a break from your daily concrete jungle life and experience this green oasis.

Kibale Forest Camp offers a variety of comfortable accommodation to suit your budget. Be it the classic canvas experience of the camp’s 12 African en suite safari style tents tucked away in a lush forest or its thatched non self-contained tents (lazy camping option),a great value for money is guaranteed.

The elegant tented camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest, just outside the southern part of Kibale Forest National Park. It borders the Magombe swamp, known for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and is a just 10 minutes’ drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Center, the place from where your chimpanzee tracking safari will start from.

Accommodation:
Kibale Forest Camp consists of 12 African safari style tents, comfortably furnished with twin or double beds. Each unit has its own private en suite bathroom with a flush toilet, a dressing room and a hot water shower. Seated from your private veranda, the red or black and white Colobus are often being observed in the dense camp surroundings.

It also offers an alternative accommodation in the form of 9 non-self-contained tents. These are furnished with comfortable beds, a bedside table and a power outlet for charging your electrical equipment. All tents are placed under a grass thatched roof. The tents share a communal ablution block with showers and flushing toilets. No need to worry about linen as all bedding and towels are provided.

Restaurant & Bar:
The camp’s bar and restaurant are situated in a beautiful wooden grass-thatched building. The open structure blends perfectly in the surroundings and overlooks a lush colorful garden. It is in this cozy restaurant that your breakfast, delicious 2 course lunches and 4 course dinners will be served.

Due to logistic reasons (quality products are difficult to get in the area and come from Kampala) it works with set menus, but if you inform it on time, it will be a pleasure to cater to your request and dietary requirements.
A little secret… do not hesitate to ask for a coffee or tea with your early wake-up call as there is no better way as to awaken with a cup of coffee on the terrace of your tent.
